'Life is no passing memory of what has been'

Reading corner The opening of eyes
by David Whyte
That day I saw beneath dark clouds
the passing light over the water
and I heard the voice of the world speak out,
I knew then, as I had before
life is no passing memory of what has been
nor the remaining pages in a great book
waiting to be read. It is the opening of eyes long closed.
It is the vision of far off things
seen for the silence they hold.
It is the heart after years
of secret conversing
speaking out loud in the clear air. It is Moses in the desert
fallen to his knees before the lit bush.
It is the man throwing away his shoes
as if to enter heaven
and finding himself astonished,
opened at last,
fallen in love with solid ground.

Healing notes
I say a lot that my dog Layla was my solid ground, my north star. As I think about her as per usual, I have learned that I feel so because she brought me closer to the solid ground inside me, to the solid ground I wished for within myself and outside.
This poem by David Whyte reminded me of her and the idea of being intimate with everything around us. Or surrounding ourselves with the feeling of solid ground. Not that the world would not challenge this once in a while but building enough resilience and ground for us to travel through our difficult times.
When I find myself in difficult, anxious moments, I try to think of the emotions Layla brought out in me. Then I try to find them within myself. Sometimes it means surrendering to the emotion, knowing I will be okay and it will pass. Holding ground and space for myself to be both parts not okay and okay. Do you know what I mean?
What encompasses your solid ground? How do you build the vastness within you? <3 Let me know if you wish.

Food experiments
I am a huge fan of coriander so wanted to experiment this!
Coriander pasta
About 100 gms of coriander
6 cloves of garlic
2 pieces of ginger
Mushroom
Pasta
Pepper
Salt
Chilli flakes
Put the coriander, garlic and ginger in a mixie. Blend until you have a smooth paste. Keep aside.
Begin to boil water with a little oil and salt. Add pasta once it comes to boil. Let pasta cook.
Pour some oil in a vessel. Roast mushrooms and any other vegetable you like. Once cooked, add the coriander paste with salt, pepper and chilli flakes.
Mix nicely.
Once done, add the cooked pasta and serve! You can a little bit of cheese on top :)
Dear you,
There has been a sudden cold wave here and I am a bit frozen. Hope you are doing well <3
Love, kindness and warmth,
Nidsitis
