Testimonials
by Rita Dove
Back when the earth was new
and heaven just a whisper,
back when the names of things
hadn't had time to stick;
back when the smallest breezes
melted summer into autumn,
when all the poplars quivered
sweetly in rank and file . . .
the world called, and I answered.
Each glance ignited to a gaze.
I caught my breath and called that life,
swooned between spoonfuls of lemon sorbet.
I was pirouette and flourish,
I was filigree and flame.
How could I count my blessings
when I didn't know their names?
Back when everything was still to come,
luck leaked out everywhere.
I gave my promise to the world,
and the world followed me here.

Healing notes
This past week I had a massive panic attack. It was shaky, trembly and terrifying. I haven't felt this out of control in a while. I also cannot imagine knowing as much as I do about how to respond to my panic attacks. I rubbed my hands together. Drank warm water. Lay down. Just breathing.
Breathing comes so naturally that one never imagines one will forget till in the middle of the panic attack and you all of a sudden are holding your breath for no good reason. Deep breaths. In and out.
When eventually calm, I sat down to read poetry. Thich Nhat Hanh. Mary Oliver. Rita Dove. One poem after another. My breathing steadied and my mind settled into the words. I repeated these words over and over to myself: 'Earth will be safe / when we feel in us enough safety.'
Need to keep working towards my body being safe. Bit by bit. Even when panic attacks shake my ground. Even when healing is gradual, temporary. <3

Food experiments
Flax Milk
Making flax milk is super easy. All you need is flax seeds and a lot of water.
1/2 cup flax seeds
8-10 cups water
Blend in a mixie together for 5 minutes. Drain using a cloth or a sieve.
Once again blend for 1 minute. Now add pitted dates, nutmeg/cinnamon to the milk. Blend till dates are mixed with the milk.
Store in a bottle and tada! :D
I made this to use in baking primarily. But also made myself some tea with it today and it wasn't bad! Yay to lots of Omega 3 :)
Dearest you,
I hope you have been having a good few weeks with a lot of fruits.
I hear they are good for you and all that.
Love, kindness and warmth,
Nidsitis
